It was a good run, but the John Paul II Cardinals unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ursuline Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ursuline Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lily Smith, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Madelyne Davis, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
John Paul II's loss dropped their record down to 16-16. As for Ursuline Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. John Paul II will take on the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Prestonwood Christian is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. As for Ursuline Academy, they will be playing at home against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Christian has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
