After flying high against Tri-Township last Friday, West Central came back down to earth. The West Central Trojans took a 73-56 bruising from the Hebron Hawks on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 74-37 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

West Central lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Christian Hughes, who went 10-for-13 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Brady Bishop was another key player, going 7-for-15 to rack up 17 points and five boards.
Even though they lost, West Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.
Hebron's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Spencer Wynsma, who scored 28 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Wynsma is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in each of the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Peter Socci, who went 7-for-9 en route to 22 points.
West Central's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Hebron, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

As for Hebron, they will head out on the road to square off against Boone Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
