Trinity Christian Academy has won seven straight games at home, while Sandalwood has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Conquerors will host the Saints at 6:30 p.m. Trinity Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Trinity Christian Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Providence School, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Conquerors fell just short of the Stallions by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The Conquerors have struggled against the Stallions recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sandalwood). They blew past Menendez 21-3 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won eight matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Kelsie Salter was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Sandalwood let Madison Heath and Emmie Dawley run wild. Heath went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Dawley went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave Heath a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Leelee Gwinn, who went 1-for-3 with three runs.
Sandalwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.2.
Sandalwood is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
Trinity Christian Academy's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's match. The Conquerors have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Sandalwood, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Trinity Christian Academy continue to outrun the ball? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
