Meanwhile, Potsdam scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by Gouverneur at home to the tune of 85-52. Potsdam has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 24 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Ian VanWagner, who scored 40 points along with five assists and four steals. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Potsdam's points. Another player making a difference was Theo Hughes, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Ogdensburg Free Academy's defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-8. As for Potsdam, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Ogdensburg Free Academy was dealt a bruising 76-46 loss at the hands of Potsdam in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of VanWagner, who scored 27 points along with four steals.
