The Anthony Wayne Generals are taking a road trip to take on the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Anthony Wayne's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Northview 21-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Generals' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Wildcats are ranked 477th).

Anthony Wayne's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cameron Miller led the charge by picking up 42 receiving yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave Miller a new career-high in receiving touchdowns (two). Jaythan Voltz handled things on the ground, rushing for 94 yards.
Anthony Wayne didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Max Grabarczyk and Eli Donawa. Anthony Wayne received some extra help from Arycin Miller, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Perrysburg over Clay in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Yellow Jackets blew the Eagles out of the water with a 48-7 final score. The victory continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.
Anthony Wayne better keep an eye on Brady Maxwell. He was instrumental in Perrysburg's win, throwing for 185 yards and four TDs on only 14 passes, while also rushing for 108 yards on only eight carries. Maxwell's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Ethan Devries, who picked up 88 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Perrysburg was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 286 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clay only rushed for 119.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Perrysburg's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Thad Merriman, Michael Duvall, and Giano Walkosky, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Anthony Wayne's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-3. As for Perrysburg, their record now sits at 7-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Anthony Wayne has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 154.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Perrysburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 217.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Anthony Wayne strolled past Perrysburg when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 31-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Generals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
