The Chestertown Christian Academy Patriots had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 35-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Concord Christian Academy on Monday. If Chestertown Christian Academy hoped to take revenge for the 21-10 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Chestertown Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Megan Stoltzfus and Reagan Harrison. Stoltzfus dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds, while Harrison scored ten points.
Concord Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joy DePace, who scored 17 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Aubrey Collison was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Chestertown Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Concord Christian Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chestertown Christian Academy will take on Calvary Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Calvary Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Friday. As for Concord Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Greenwood Mennonite at 4:00 p.m. Greenwood Mennonite's defense has only allowed 18.1 points per game this season, so Concord Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
