Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Suwannee

Suwannee entered their tilt with Newberry on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Panthers 9-3. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Grayson Greene tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Jace Moran and Kyler Watson did most of the damage at the plate: Moran scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Watson scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs Moran has posted since back in April of 2024. W. Grayson Bonds also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Suwannee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Suwannee's record now sits at 11-6. As for Newberry, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.

Coming up, Suwannee will take on Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Columbia will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Suwannee surely won't give up without a fight. As for Newberry, they will host Trinity Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
