The Conestoga Christian Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They strolled past High Point Baptist Academy with points to spare, taking the game 71-52. The victory was all the more spectacular given Conestoga Christian's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 421st, while High Point Baptist Academy is ranked 191st).
Conestoga Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Paul Hurst out in front who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. Hurst has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Boutaugh, who scored 23 points along with six assists and three steals.
Conestoga Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for High Point Baptist Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conestoga Christian will square off against Linville Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for High Point Baptist Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Coventry Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coventry Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully High Point Baptist Academy likes a good challenge.
