Baseball Recap: Wadley Find Success

While Wadley's victory against Randolph County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wadley Bulldogs won by a run and slipped past the Randolph County Tigers 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted against the Tigers since March 5, 2019.

Wadley let Ty Taylor and Mason Wilkerson run wild. Taylor scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3, while Wilkerson scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Wadley is undefeated when Taylor posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-6 otherwise. Lance Garrett also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Wadley and bumps their season record up to 4-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Randolph County, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with the loss, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Wadley will challenge Central of Coosa County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Randolph County, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Randolph County Tigers face off against Woodland Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
