The Lapel Bulldogs couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost to Anderson at home by a decisive 70-53 margin on Friday. Lapel has struggled against Anderson recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Lapel's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bode Judge, who scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds. Quinn Wilkins was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
damien King had a dynamite game for Anderson, dropping a double-double on 34 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which King has scored at least 25% of Anderson's points. Another player making a difference was Spencer Proctor, who scored 13 points.
Lapel's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Anderson, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Lapel will head out on the road to face off against Frankton at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Frankton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday. As for Anderson, they will be playing at home against Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
