The Harding County Ranchers came into Thursday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Takini, posting a 69-42 victory at home. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Harding County also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2022.
It was another big night for Payton Dvorak, who scored 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in the last five games he's played. Jarett Schuchard was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Harding County's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-7. As for Takini, they dropped their record down to 5-8 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harding County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Longhorns at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Takini's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Tigers at 5:15 p.m. on February 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Oelrichs is ranked 157th, while the Skyhawks are ranked 143rd).
