The Satellite Scorpions were the 38-15 winner over the Palm Bay Pirates when they last played one another back in October of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Satellite took a 35-21 bruising from Palm Bay on Friday. Satellite's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Satellite lost, one person who can't be blamed is Eric Weza. Despite the final result, he picked up 54 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palm Bay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jeremy Pittman jr, who rushed for 192 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Bradyn Cook was another key contributor, rushing for 95 yards and three touchdowns.
Satellite's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Palm Bay, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Satellite will take on Mainland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mainland presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Satellite in Florida (Mainland is ranked 19th, while Satellite is ranked 193rd). As for Palm Bay, they will head out on the road to face off against Titusville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
