The Florida Christian Patriots will challenge the Coral Reef Barracudas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Florida Christian 2.9, Coral Reef 1.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
If Florida Christian beats Coral Reef with 15 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Florida Christian didn't even let Mater Bay Academy on the board on Wednesday, marking Florida Christian's second-straight 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Florida Christian got a massive performance out of Danbee Kim, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Meanwhile, Coral Reef faced Wellington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Coral Reef fell just short of Wellington by a score of 2-1. The Barracudas' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
The victory made it two in a row for Florida Christian and bumps their season record up to 10-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Coral Reef, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-2.
Florida Christian's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's contest. Florida Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Coral Reef, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Florida Christian continue to outrun the ball?
Florida Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Coral Reef when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Will Florida Christian repeat their success, or does Coral Reef have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
