While losing is never fun, Bartlesville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 285th in Oklahoma, while Independent is ranked 85th in Kansas).
Sean Williams was the offensive standout of the game as he dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Oliver Selmon was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Bartlesville's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Independent, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Bartlesville will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Union at 8:00 p.m. on January 25th. The timing is sure in Union's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Bartlesville has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. As for Independent, Independent and KIPP Tulsa University Prep will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. KIPP Tulsa University Prep is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
