Bowie and Austin are an even 4-4 against one another since September of 2015, but not for long. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Maroons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Bowie is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup on Thursday with ease, bagging a 55-12 win over Akins. With the Bulldogs ahead 28-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Rhys Moreno and Julius Silva. Moreno gained 192 total yards and two touchdowns while Silva rushed for 116 yards and three TDs on only nine carries. Moreno also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Bowie is 5-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.
Bowie was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 422 rushing yards. They are a perfect 5-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Austin, who bounced back after a loss on the road on October 9th. Everything went their way against Akins last Friday as they made off with a 33-7 victory.
Austin's win came from a few key players Bowie will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alijah Jablon, who rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 117 yards and one TD on only nine passes. Those 80 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caleb DeLeon, who rushed for 80 yards and one score on only 11 carries.
Bowie now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Austin, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Bowie has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 354.9 total yards per game. It's a different story for Austin, though, as they've been averaging only 199.8 total yards. Will Bowie be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Maroons flip the script?
Bowie couldn't quite finish off Austin in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 and fell 35-32. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more football content.
