Timberland has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Timberland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Timberland ended up a good deal behind the Battling Bishops and lost 59-40. While losing is never fun, Timberland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Battling Bishops are ranked 26th).
Despite the defeat, Timberland saw an underclassman step up: Zion Prioleau scored 20 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Prioleau has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Samara Scott, who scored four points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Oceanside Collegiate Academy entered their tilt with the Battling Bishops with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Oceanside Collegiate Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against the Battling Bishops on Friday and snuck past 36-33.
Timberland's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Oceanside Collegiate Academy, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5.
Things could have been worse for Timberland, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-30 loss to the Landsharks in their previous matchup back in January. Can Timberland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
