The Friendly Patriots had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They snuck past Central with a 66-62 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Friendly's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khadir Johnson, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Maddox Graham was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Friendly's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Friendly will head out on the road to face off against Suitland at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. Friendly is facing Suitland at the right time seeing as Suitland is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Central, they will square off against Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South at TBD on Tuesday.
