In what's become a running theme this season, the Millbrook Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They put the hurt on Heritage with a sharp 84-59 victory. With Millbrook ahead 44-23 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Colt Langdon was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Millbrook's points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Lawton, who scored 16 points.
Despite the loss, Heritage still got an impressive performance from Jon Mwanda, who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mwanda has scored all season. Ryder Strand was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Millbrook is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.
Millbrook will be playing in front of their home fans against Wakefield at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Millbrook knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Wakefield likes a good challenge. Heritage will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Wake Forest at 7:45 p.m. on February 6th. Heritage is facing Wake Forest at the right time seeing as Wake Forest is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
