The Como Park Cougars will square off against the Harding Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
Como Park came up short against Highland Park on Wednesday, falling 11-1. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Scots recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Como Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Laya James, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Harding, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on Camden with a sharp 20-2 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won five in a row.
Avorn Vang was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. She also put up four hits, which were her first of the season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Harding got a massive performance out of Ava Vang, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four runs gave Vang a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mary Thao, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Harding always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Como Park fell to 2-1. As for Harding, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
