Hampden is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Messalonskee by a score of 11-6 on Monday. That's two games straight that the Broncos have won by exactly five runs.

Kaysen Wildman and Andrew Cote did most of the damage at the plate: Wildman went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Cote got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave Wildman a new career-high. Rogan Lord was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Hampden always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, while it was Mount Desert Island who put the first runs on the board on Monday, it was Hermon who put up more. The Trojans fell 7-3 to the Hawks. Trojans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Hawks since on Monday.
Colin Sullivan was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season.
Hampden now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Mount Desert Island, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Mount Desert Island's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hampden has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .461. It's a different story for Mount Desert Island, though, as they've only averaged .356. Will they be able to contain Hampden's hitters?
Hampden took their victory against Mount Desert Island in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 9-2 score. Will the Broncos repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
