The Greene County Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Linden Patriots at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greene County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Friday, Greene County was the victim of a rough 43-20 loss at the hands of Marion. While losing is never fun, Greene County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while Marion is ranked 165th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Lester Scott, who scored four points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Egan Daley, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Greene County were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. This was only their eighth loss (out of eight games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Linden, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They had to suffer through a rough 83-39 loss at the hands of Dallas County.
Greene County bumped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Linden, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Greene County took their win against Linden in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 55-29. Does Greene County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Linden turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
