The Burroughs Burros suffered their biggest loss since December 2, 2023 on Wednesday. They were dealt a 71-39 loss at the hands of Hesperia. While losing is never fun, Burroughs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 719th, while Hesperia is ranked 194th).
Burroughs lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Trevor Rowland, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Jack Louer was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
This is the second loss in a row for Burroughs and nudges their season record down to 11-10. As for Hesperia, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a massive bump to their 17-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burroughs will take on Apple Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hesperia, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Sultana at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st.
