This season hasn't been kind to the St. Edward Beavers, who are still winless after their eighth match. They fell 38-26 to Elba on Tuesday. St. Edward has struggled against Elba recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Several Beavers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trinity Sindelar, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Sindelar also posted two blocks for the first time this season.
Even though they lost, St. Edward were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Elba got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was JarahLynn Morrow out in front who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Morrow scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Wysocki, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
St. Edward's defeat was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-8. As for Elba, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-4.
St. Edward will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Santee at 5:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Elba, they will head out on the road to face off against Burwell at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
