The biggest upset of the week belonged to Willow Glen, who took down 198th ranked Leland, 35-17.
The Rams scaled the state rankings by moving to 602 from 644 this week, the biggest jump in Mount Hamilton. Willow Glen climbed the ranks as a result of beating the Chargers 35-17.
Piedmont Hills's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Anthony McBride threw for 196 and 3 touchdowns and Joseph Romero had 95 yards receiving. On the ground Tovio Laufasa contributed 80 yards. Isaiah Arnold-Stewart helped Piedmont Hills' passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 44 yards.
He was 14-32 with 2 interceptions.
Laufasa was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 80 yards on 11 carries as the Pirates topped Independence. Teammate McBride added to the ground attack by rushing for 34 yards.
Piedmont Hills' McBride and Romero have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback McBride has thrown for 1,490 yards this season, while Romero has 31 catches for 585 yards. Oscar Caballero's team's Hakeem Mays leads the league in rushing yards with 913.
Mays of the the Rams is just 87 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Mays has rushed for 913 yards on 85 carries so far this year.
At the moment, the Pirates are in first, while Willow Glen is in fourth.
Sobrato lost to Pioneer 42-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
