Two dominant players in Tyrone Orr and Nate Sweet are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The River City Raiders and the Union Mine Diamondbacks will face off at 5:30 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. River City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 719th, while Union Mine is ranked 165th).
Last Thursday, River City lost to Elk Grove on the road by a decisive 55-38 margin. That's two games in a row now that River City has lost by exactly 17 points.
Meanwhile, Union Mine came tearing into Saturday's match with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 71-53 win over Bella Vista.
This is the second loss in a row for River City and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Union Mine, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1.
