It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Reseda Regents had no problem doing just that on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Pirates. The win was just what Reseda needed coming off of a 5-1 defeat in their prior match.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Mark Zuniga and
Jefferson Parada, who scored both of Reseda's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 27 so far this season.
The win got Reseda back to even at 8-8-5. As for San Pedro, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9-5.
Reseda will be playing in front of their home fans against Sylmar at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sylmarpresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Reseda in California (Sylmar is ranked 255th, while Reseda is ranked 582nd). San Pedro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
