The Kalama Chinooks lost against the Adna Pirates back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Kalama lost to Adna on the road by a decisive 72-54 margin. While losing is never fun, Kalama can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while Adna is ranked 104th).
Kalama lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gavin McBride, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Henry Sigfridson, who scored nine points along with five assists.
Speaking of assists, Kalama were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Kalama has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Adna, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
Kalama will head out on the road to face off against Toledo at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Adna, they will be playing at home against Wahkiakum at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wahkiakum is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road.
