Football Recap: Midview's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Midview put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Elyria Catholic Panthers as they made off with a 41-20 win. The Middies pushed the score to 34-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Midview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shay Williams, who threw for 239 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Brennen Newton also helped with two TDs in total.

Despite the loss, Elyria Catholic saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Robbie Duray threw for 256 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Jazear Terry was Duray's top target, picking up 106 receiving yards and one score.

Midview's record now sits at 3-0. As for Elyria Catholic, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Midview didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-7 loss against Avon Lake on the 12th. As for Elyria Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 17-0 victory against Vermilion on the 12th.
