Basketball Recap: Victory Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Victory Christian Academy played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Faith Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders and fell 51-21. The loss continues a trend for the Soldiers in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the defeat, Victory Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Daniil Kosolapenko dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Kosolapenko a new career-high in blocks (two).

Leading Faith Baptist Christian Academy to victory were Jefferson Weaver and Aidan Massey. Weaver went 7 of 9 en route to 14 points along with five boards and four blocks, while Massey dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Weaver has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last four times he's played. Gordon Boyd was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Victory Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Faith Baptist Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
