Dr. Joaquin Garcia found their leader in underclassman Lauren Vance, who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Vance scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Aleesia Phillips, who scored ten points.
Dreyfoos School of the Arts' victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-8.
Dreyfoos School of the Arts skirted past Dr. Joaquin Garcia 26-24 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dreyfoos School of the Arts since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
