It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Mammoth Huskies can now relate to. They fell to Fresno Christian 32-28. Mammoth has struggled against Fresno Christian recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matt Petroni, who rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also picked up 38 receiving yards. Matthew Toomey was in the mix as well, providing Mammoth with two touchdowns.
It was another big night for Logan Stotts, who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 102 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Jude Sheppard, who rushed for 33 yards and two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Fresno Christian's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Angel DeLeon was the leader with two sacks.
Mammoth's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Fresno Christian, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Mammoth does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fresno Christian will play host again and welcome Sierra, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Sierra is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
