When it comes to explaining why Sumner lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jacob Douglas. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points along with four steals. The matchup was Douglas' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Williams, who scored seven points along with six blocks and five rebounds.
Sumner's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Berkeley Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sumner will take on Spoto at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Spoto is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Berkeley Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Vanguard at 7:00 p.m.
