The Valley Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They snuck past Columbus HomeSchool with a 62-56 win. The win was nothing new for Valley as they're now sitting on three straight.
When it comes to explaining why Columbus HomeSchool lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kaden Greenlee. Despite the final result, he scored 34 points along with seven rebounds. Greenlee scored a full 60.7% of Columbus HomeSchool's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Salsbery, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Valley pushed their record up to 3-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Columbus HomeSchool, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley will face off against Whitefield Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Columbus HomeSchool will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bluegrass United at 5:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
