The Two Eagle River Eagles will take on the West Yellowstone Wolverines at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Two Eagle River has given up an average of 56.4 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Two Eagle River is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 13, 2025 on Saturday. They came up short against St. Regis, falling 74-49. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the loss, Two Eagle River had strong showings from Talon Addison, who posted 12 points, and Arty Mahkuk, who had 12 points. Another player making a difference was Akiye Wandering Medicine, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, West Yellowstone came tearing into last Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 47-34 win over the Bruins.
West Yellowstone found their leader in sophomore Abrams Clark, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. The Wolverines are 7-3 when Clark posts eight or more boards, but 2-6 otherwise. Noah Flores was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.
Two Eagle River's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for West Yellowstone, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest-scoring teams around. Two Eagle River hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 68.1 points per game. However, it's not like West Yellowstone struggles in that department as they've been averaging 55.2 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can put up more.
Two Eagle River couldn't quite get it done against West Yellowstone in their previous matchup back in February of 2025 as they fell 55-45. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
