Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for South Laurel

South Laurel had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Corbin Redhounds. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-6 on Monday.

South Laurel let Austin Byrd and Waylon Hensley run wild. Byrd went 1-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Hensley went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Those three runs gave Byrd a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reece Noble, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

South Laurel's record is now 16-4. As for Corbin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: South Laurel beat the Redhounds by a score of 8-4 on Wednesday.
