Sadly, the Spruce Timberwolves are still looking for their first win of the season after 22 matchups. They had to suffer through a rough 64-18 loss at the hands of North Mesquite. Spruce has struggled against North Mesquite recently, as their match on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
North Mesquite got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Micah Vaughn out in front who scored 17 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Christian Brooks, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Spruce's loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-22. As for North Mesquite, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-12 record this season.
Spruce will look to defend their home court on Friday against West Mesquite at 8:00 p.m. West Mesquite presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Spruce in Texas (West Mesquite is ranked 177th, while Spruce is ranked 1380th). As for North Mesquite, they will head out on the road to challenge Poteet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully North Mesquite focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
