Floyd couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 30-64 punch to the gut against Carrizozo on Friday.
The loss dropped Floyd back to even at 0-0. The win bumped Carrizozo's record up to 1-0.
Floyd have some extra time to regroup and restrategize before their next game, which is against Hondo Valley at 7:00 PM in two weeks. Carrizozo will look to defend their home turf next week against New Mexico School for the Deaf at 6:00 PM.
