Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Cameron County Raiders, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 21-20 to Coudersport. Cameron County has not had much luck with Coudersport recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Cameron County still got an impressive performance from Malakai Zucal, who rushed for 217 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry.
Coudersport's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gavyn Ayers, who threw for 180 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of John Wright, who gained 96 total yards and a touchdown.
Cameron County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Coudersport, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Cameron County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Coudersport will head out on the road to face off against Redbank Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Redbank Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Coudersport in Pennsylvania (Redbank Valley is ranked 110th, while Coudersport is ranked 419th).
