The Essex Trojans put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 39-31 win over Westmoreland. That's another feather in the cap for Essex, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Morgan Self was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 17 points, 20 rebounds, and 11 blocks. Self is crushing the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylah Mercer, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Essex's victory was their 11th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-0. As for Westmoreland, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.
Essex does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westmoreland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Colonial Beach at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
