Lower Lake had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 3-10 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They won by a run and slipped past the Middletown Mustangs 9-8. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Mustangs on April 4th, they had to take a 8-1 defeat.

Adrian Negrete was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Eric Alonso was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double.
As for Middletown, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12-1 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.
On Middletown's side, Jon Hawkins was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Hawkins has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Middletown is 2-1 when Hawkins posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-11-1 otherwise.
In other batting news, Hayden Xavier was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. That double was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Davis, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Coming up, Lower Lake is taking a road trip to square off against St. Helena at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Saints' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Middletown, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Fort Bragg at 4:00 p.m. The Timberwolves will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
