After flying high against the Wishkah Valley Loggers last Friday, the Oakville Acorns came back down to earth. Oakville took a serious blow against Crescent on Monday, falling 50-22. Having soared to a lofty 57 points in the game before, Oakville couldn't push the score so high this time.
When it comes to explaining why Oakville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alyssa Forsythe. Despite the final result, she scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and two steals. Forsythe hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Mendez, who scored four points along with three steals.
Oakville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Crescent, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5.
Oakville will head out on the road to challenge Washington School for the Deaf at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Crescent, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Neah Bay at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Neah Bay is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
