Blacksher came tearing into Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Excel Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since March 16, 2024.

Blacksher's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lagan Rolin, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was Rolin's first of the season.

Blacksher's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Excel, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blacksher will venture away from home to take on Flomaton at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Blacksher is facing Flomaton at the right time seeing as Flomaton is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Excel, they will head out to challenge Andalusia at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
