The Caldwell Bluejays lost against the Sedan Devils back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Caldwell took a 46-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sedan. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Caldwell in their matchups with Sedan: they've now lost three in a row.
Caldwell's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jackson Risley, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds, and Miles Newell who scored ten points. Risley is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played.
Caldwell's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.3 points per game. As for Sedan, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.
After both having extra time off, Caldwell and Central will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Sedan will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Flinthills at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
