Basketball Recap: Lily Berenzweig's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ottawa Hills over North Baltimore

Ottawa Hills was the 39-26 winner over North Baltimore when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Ottawa Hills Green Bears came up short against the North Baltimore Tigers on Saturday, falling 60-36. The Green Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-17.

Several Green Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lily Berenzweig, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most points Berenzweig has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kendell Skiver, who posted 11 points and three blocks.

It was another big night for Lacie Allison, who shot 6-for-10 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 31 points and 12 boards for North Baltimore. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which Allison has scored at least a third of North Baltimore's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Allison, who had 12 points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Ottawa Hills' loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for North Baltimore, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.

Ottawa Hills will venture away from home to challenge Rogers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Baltimore, they will welcome Ridgedale at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
