In what's become a running theme this season, the Hammond Golden Bears gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 47-10 victory over Long Reach. Hammond's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Hammond's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Asia Mitchell, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Nia Green, who scored ten points along with eight assists and six rebounds.
Hammond pushed their record up to 18-0 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Long Reach, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.
Hammond will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Hebron at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Hammond's defense has only allowed 27.7 points per game this season, so Mt. Hebron's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Long Reach, they will square off against River Hill at TBD on Monday. River Hill will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Long Reach surely won't give up without a fight.
