The South Bend Clay Colonials struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Tuesday (the Goshen RedHawks were 24% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. South Bend Clay took a 63-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Goshen. South Bend Clay has not had much luck with Goshen recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Several Colonials players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyrese Jones, who scored 15 points along with six assists. The match was Jones' third in a row with at least ten points. Brad Hicks was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Goshen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryan Eldridge, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Worthman, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
South Bend Clay has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Goshen, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Bend Clay will stay at home for another game and welcome South Bend Adams at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully South Bend Adams focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Friday. Goshen will be home for the holidays to greet Northridge at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. Northridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Goshen in Indiana (Northridge is ranked 35th, while Goshen is ranked 109th).
