After having lost a blowout in their previous game against McGuffey, Charleroi was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Keystone Oaks Golden Eagles 8-1. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Ariahna Blouse was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Blouse was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Nori Stringa-Smith was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Pendo, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Charleroi's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Keystone Oaks, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.
