The Waverly Ravens's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by The Webb Schools 88-5. Waverly was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-3.
Tyler Samson was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with nine rebounds for The Webb Schools. Samson hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Josef Sharifi, who scored eight points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Waverly bumped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for The Webb Schools, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waverly on the road again on Tuesday and play against TREE Academy at 3:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for The Webb Schools, they will take on Western Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Western Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than The Webb Schools in California (Western Christian is ranked 343rd, while The Webb Schools is ranked 1191st).
