After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lutheran North, the Northland Christian Cougars were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Alpha Omega Academy 36-33. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Northland Christian has posted since November 9, 2023.
Despite the loss, Alpha Omega Academy still got an impressive performance from Kathryn Peach, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 25 rebounds. Peach hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Maddie Wallace, who scored seven points.
Northland Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Alpha Omega Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northland Christian will take on First Baptist Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alpha Omega Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Rosehill Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rosehill Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Alpha Omega Academy in Texas (Rosehill Christian is ranked 215th, while Alpha Omega Academy is ranked 983rd).
