After a string of ten wins, the Port St. Lucie Jaguars's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jones. Port St. Lucie was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Jones apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on Wednesday.
Despite the loss, Port St. Lucie still got an impressive performance from Ryan Rodriguez, who scored 28 points along with nine rebounds. The game was Rodriguez's 16th in a row with at least ten points. Kevin Thomas was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Port St. Lucie's defeat dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Jones, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.
Port St. Lucie will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Fork at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Jones and Lake Minneola will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
